SHOE REPAIR FUNDAMENTALS (1 DAY ADD-ON CLASS)
Bring your own shoes to learn and perform repairs on. All other repair supplies are provided. *This class has been shortened from 2 days to 1 day to make it an easy add-on to your existing program.

LEVEL: BEGINNER/INTERMEDIATE
TUITION: $375.00 (us funds)

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Be introduced to the fundamentals of shoe repair and learn the basics of how to repair shoes for yourself and others. Students work on basic, common repair jobs (such as replacing heel caps, rewrapping ladies' damaged heels, repairing/replacing soles, restoration, detailing and shining shoes) while making repairs to their own shoes (limited to simple repairs that can be accomplished with the resources and time available). The class is limited to 3 students and is conducted in a working shoe lab.

INTRODUCTORY TOPICS INCLUDE:
-What makes a shoe/boot repairable?
-Materials & Supplies
-Common shoe repairs: heel caps, ladies heels, sole repairs, scuffs, tears, and other repairs and restorations.
-Detailing/Shoe Shining
-Chemicals, adhesives, tools and equipment
-Shop Safety -Cost/Analysis
-Shoe Repair business overview

***Students interested in taking this class must send jpeg images of the shoes they will be bringing to assure repairability PRIOR to enrollment.

*The Shoe College Classes, Courses and Programs are a non-accredited fast-track hands-on technical school conducted in a working shoe lab where class size is limited to 2-3 people thus ensuring the maximum personalized attention from our highly qualified instructors.

No promise or guarantee regarding the outcome of any student's project is implied since results are solely determined by a student's individual skill level and/or prior experience.

The Shoe College's programs are intended to impart valuable lab experience and knowledge regarding many aspects of quality, hand-made construction and other important aspects of the shoe trades that students must build upon after attending. Students must not expect to come away with a perfect sample or a perfectly fitting shoe in the limited duration of any single class, course or program since this can only come w/ the student's commitment of time and practice after the completion of any course of study at The Shoe College. Some students may not complete their projects within the time allotted.
